Iconic, but altered view of the Gallatin Valley's Yellowstone's river in September 2022. Alterations were the result of "extraordinary flooding that surged down the Yellowstone River and its tributaries in northwestern Wyoming and south-central Montana on June 13–15, 2022." Even though much of the campground at the river's edge was washed away, the beauty of the area continues and is rebuilding.
Having grown up in Montana, I took for granted the warm cheer of the yellow grasses until I lived most of my adult life in Alaska which is dominated by cool colors. So when I had an opportunity to showcase what I consider to be an important part of the Montana landscape, I did!
